Regained Freedom!

The “Word” that brought the universe into existence took human flesh, was born like a human, lived among us, and befriended us! He exemplified true and divine love. We find the following testimony from the writings of Apostle John:

“The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. … From his fullness we all received grace upon grace … Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.”

And we learn more from John’s other writings about this good news, how we regain our freedom when we believe in him and become the children of God:

But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name: who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Apostle John was one of the many eye-witnesses and followers of Jesus Christ that testified and shared what he saw and experienced:

“That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we saw, and our hands touched, concerning the Word of life and the life was revealed, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us; that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ. And we write these things to you, that our joy may be fulfilled.”

Praise God that the road to salvation is opened up. And as he promised earlier, he forgives our sins according to the following verses:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Several prophets prophesied the coming and indwelling of the Son of God with us centuries ago! Prophet Isaiah, who lived roughly 800 years before Jesus, wrote:

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

The word “Immanuel” means “God with us.” Born from the Virgin Mary, the Son of God came to be with us not to judge but to go on the cross willingly and deliver us from the slavery of sin! No such great love is ever recorded in history because millions become free from addictions and destructive habits daily. But more importantly, they begin experiencing a new life that continues through eternity.

Whatever our Creator does for us is out of grace. Grace means receiving something we aren’t worthy of because nobody deserves God’s forgiveness, which cost him suffering and death on the cross. But God continuously loved us so much that He took our penalty so we could have eternal life!

I received God's grace too! It's for you as well! I remember the day of my transformation. I prayed that day, "Our Father in Heaven, I know I'm a sinner. I believe that Jesus died for my sins. I accept him as my Lord and savior. Please forgive me and give me the power to live a new life that honors you. I ask in Jesus' name."

It didn't take long for my friends to notice the changes God began in me. I was a teenager attending school. One day one of my classmates said, "Hey, you are different!" I wasn't sure what he meant, so I asked, "What do you mean? He said, "You don't curse or swear anymore. You behave differently!"

He was right! I became a free person, a different person, a new person! I gradually overcame my old and bad habits of telling lies, cheating, smoking, and cursing! I was born again!

Deliverance from the slavery of sin is a gift from our Creator to everyone, including you and me! Do you want to pray with a sincere heart and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? It would be the most significant and life-changing decision in your life! His presence will be with and in you and guide you wherever you go!
