Absolute Rest

If our only desire was to become rich and powerful, why do so many who reached their goals still feel empty? The answer is obvious. What we genuinely need is absolute peace and safety!

We fear the future and anything that isn’t under our control. We fear losing our jobs, getting terminally ill, losing our friends, and the day our secrets are revealed. We fear the unknown. Fear drives us to work harder and run faster to gain position, power, and security. We pursue happiness and peace, but instead, our anxiety and grief increase! We don't find a resting place even when we go on vacation to rest.

We may only gain absolute rest once we meet the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Only then do our fears diminish, and we begin experiencing true joy and peace. Then, when the time comes to leave this world and the time capsule behind, we genuinely rest in his divine peace, living and reigning with him through eternity!

“There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest …”  Hebrews 4:9-11 NKJV
